KPP reaction-diffusion equations with a non-linear loss inside a cylinder

We consider in this paper a reaction-diffusion system in presence of a flow and under a KPP hypothesis. While the case of a single-equation has been extensively studied since the pioneering Kolmogorov-Petrovski-Piskunov paper, the study of the corresponding system with a Lewis number not equal to 1 is still quite open. Here, we will prove some results about the existence of travelling fronts and generalized travelling fronts solutions of such a system with the presence of a non-linear spacedependent loss term inside the domain. In particular, we will point out the existence of a minimal speed, above which any real value is an admissible speed. We will also give some spreading results for initial conditions decaying exponentially at infinity

Island Living in a Global Age: A Community Organization for Engaging and Networking Rural Youth on the Danish Island of Møn

    Get PDF
Island Living in a Global Age (ILGA) is a non-profit community organization that aims to network the Danish community on the island of Møn. Our project goal was to assist our sponsors in creating the concept and business strategy behind ILGA. We conducted interviews and focus groups on Møn to identify community issues mirroring trends of rural marginalization seen in global rural communities. Interviews held with the leaders of existing community organizations revealed successful business strategies. Based on our research, we facilitated a workshop wherein our sponsors developed a mission statement and business model for ILGA. These deliverables and our final recommendations can guide ILGA as it grows, making it an influential, long-lasting community organization
